VERSE OF THE DAY

Matthew 28:18-20
“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

kingsley: Set Up by the Lord

Round about June/July ’09, I received a letter from my present lender that one of my mortgage accounts was part of the book that had been sold to another building society, upon receiving this letter I was really upset and queried this move on the path of the bank and demanded all sorts of explanation for this action. (Little did I know that by this action the Lord had set me up big time!!! and I mean big time!!!)

October 2009, Pastor Segun gave me a prophetic message about my debt being cancelled as always, I run with these prophetic words and agree that it will surely come to pass in my life.

When I got this message, the thought that came into my mind was that if any of my debts were to be cancelled it would be my credit card debts or overdraft as they would be easy to write off.

Preceding the prophetic word I received a letter dated September ’09 from my mortgage lender informing me that as a result of a UK government financial relief initiative, my account had been randomly selected to be granted a 10% discount relief on their mortgages on the condition that I remortgaged the property by 27/11/09 the implication of this discount is that the bank was willing to write £27k off my mortgage, penalty fee and legal cost so from a £271k mortgage my mortgage will drop to a balance of £244k.

Initially I thought this was too good an offer to be true and did not pay any attention to this letter as I know banks do not just write off debts unless it is a bad debt more so I am not an adverse/risky borrower which again increased my scepticism.

Two (2) weeks from the date of the discount letter, I received an SMS message on my phone sent from the discount offering bank to notify me that they had sent me letters but their records show that I had not contacted the bank. Following on from this, I called the bank for an explanation of the whole process and at the end of the call I was subtly reminded that I had about 6weeks to complete this deal else the deal would run out.

At this moment I held onto the passage “The blessings of the Lord it maketh rich and added no sorrow” and in my physical, panicked as I now did not want to loose out on the discount offer.

October through November ’09, I had discussions with two (2) financial advisers to see how to get this discount redeemed before the expiry date; As this period was one of the steepest troughs in the economic cycle there were very few mortgage deals around and basically I could not get any mortgage offer to help me claim this deal and I was given reasons/excuses why the mortgage could not be approved this time round and the validity of the offer expired by end of November ’09.

1st week in December I called the bank and explained my situation regarding the discount deal and someone called me back a few weeks later stating that they can only extend the offer for just five (5) more days. (At this time I was discouraged and gave up doing anything knowing that I could complete such a deal in 5 days).
Then again I held onto a few passages Isaiah 43:19 & Psalm 20.

During my conversation with the bank I made it known to the customer service officer that I would be glad if they can assist in anyway possible; the bank called me up later with the detail of a financial adviser close to my home.

This financial adviser, came across very laid back with the situation i.e. the expiration date of the offer. The first thing he said to me was “One thing I feel we should do is ask the bank to increase the discount at the same time get them to extend the expiry date”. My thought on this was not wanting to lose this discount at least let us try and get this expiry date sorted out first and every other thing can follow, but the financial adviser was not having any of these which got me a bit frustrated and on my agreement he went ahead

At this stage, I held on to the request made by the daughters of Zelophehad on Moses and Eleazer (Num 27:1-7) this gave me some more confidence. To my utmost surprise, I received an update from the financial adviser followed by a letter from the bank that the deadline had not only been extended to 28/02/10 and that the discount has also been increased to £40k in effect the bank is now offering to discount my mortgage from £271k to £231k.

The good news is I have a mortgage offer approved by one of the known mortgage banks and completion is anytime now.

ZMD: THE FAITHFULNESS OF THE GOD

During the December 2008 night vigil, the Pastor asked the congregation to bring their credit cards to the altar in order to pray for debt cancellation as a corporate body. We prayed and the Pastor anointed the cards with anointing oil.

Few days later, I was walking up the stairs in my house when the Holy Spirit prompted me to write down all my debts. So I told my husband and we wrote down all our debts and prayed over them using the scriptures below:

Hab 2:2-3   Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.  (This was on of the prayer points at the night visual in December).

Rm 13:8   Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.

Ex 3:22  But every woman shall ask of her neighbour, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put [them] on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians."

Within a week of writing down and praying over our debts, my husband got a call from whom he thought was a sales person, and wanted to put the phone down, but decided to listen to what the gentleman had to say. The gentleman was so specific that he mentioned my husband’s name and named the credit cards stating that the company he represented a debt company whose intention is to cancel debts that individuals are unable to pay. The gentleman forewarned my husband that the credit card companies would continue to call for a few months, but was told to inform them that the debt was taken over by the debt company, and this would eventually stop.

This has happened in a season were my husband is unemployed!!!  Psalm 37:19 says “They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.”

Anonymous: Mortgage reduced

During the  prayer meeting on Thursday, 26th of March, Pastor Segun gave me a Word from God that my mortgage was going to be reduced. I smiled and replied that my mortgage had already been reduced that week. I knew interest rates were going down so it was really no surprise, but then another reduction?  My friend joined in confirming I had told her that my mortgage had been reduced. However, Pastor Segun said that what he heard was my mortgage was going to be reduced. I said thank you and praised God for the mortgage that had been reduced, thinking it was already done.

We have a flat which we previously  lived in, that had been rented out but I thought it was the house that we currently live in that was being spoken of. It never occurred to me that the flat would have its mortgage reduced because it had already been reduced to approximately £250 a month, which we thought was fantastic.

It was a pleasant surprise some days later, when my husband emailed me saying that the mortgage for the flat was now £86.20. I called my husband excitedly, telling him the events of the previous prayer meeting because he was unable to attend. I then rang Pastor Segun telling him that the Word of God had indeed come to pass, and then my friend who was present when Pastor Segun gave the Word. I worshipped God! I praised God!! And I am still in awe of God!!!
